About Skunk No 1 Seeds

These seeds are a back cross of Todd McCormick’s Skunk #1 Seeds.  Skunk No 1 Seeds. also known as “#1” or simply as “Skunk.” It remains one of the most famous strains of all time.  Born three decades ago in Holland. Simultaneously breeders crossed multiple strains from South and Central America, Thailand, and Afghanistan. Accordingly, the result became a staple in itself. Altogether it spawned countless hybrids containing its genes. True to its name, Skunk No 1 smells decidedly skunky. The taste is a mix of sour and earthy flavors.  25 Regular seeds per package.

History of Skunk No 1 Seeds

Skunk #1 was the first true stabilized hybrid to enter the Dutch greenhouses. Sacred Seeds created in the late 1970s from Afghani Indy, “Acapulco Gold” Mexican and Columbian Gold S. Successfully stabilized; Widely used as a breeding parent for most of today’s leading “skunk” and many other strains.

Growth is straightforward and has always been as a standard against which others can be measured. It produces dense buds varying in color from light green to golden with a high yield.  Correspondingly, it is easy to manicure due to its high bud-to-leaf ratio. It has a sweet smell and taste with a cerebral high.

Likewise breeders regard Skunk #1 as the benchmark of equally uniform, reliable performance, and her rock-solid genotype has straightaway influenced a hundred modern hybrids.

The Skunk No 1 has a lovely fragrance. Indoor or greenhouse growing suits this strain well. Growers are satisfied with Skunk No 1’s yields.

How to Grow Skunk No 1 Seeds

From Sensi Seeds: This excellent indoor/greenhouse variety is fun and easy to grow. Characterized by large fan leaves and short internodes. Skunk No 1 produces heavy, dense, uniformed buds with a high calyx-to-leaf ratio. This allows for good airflow, making this variety mold-resistant and easy to manicure. Expect heavy yields of large buds with a sweet, spicy skunky taste and smell at harvest time.

Flowering: 45-50 days

From Dutch Passion: Blooms with long, thick buds, varying in color from light green to golden. Very high flower-to-leaf ratio. Mold is susceptible to the last six weeks of flowering. Soft and sweet aroma. Excellent variety for indoor growing or greenhouse with a darkening system. Significantly  high yields. Easy to manicure. This variety serves as a standard against which others can be measured.

Skunk No 1’s energetic performance and bountiful yields demonstrate the true meaning of hybrid vigor. The extra-dark green of this strain’s foliage comes from her Afghan ancestors. Flowering is fast, and Skunk N0 1 produces robust stems and branches to support her superior yields. Similarly short internode gaps explode into dense, rounded bud clusters, which merge into huge, heavy colas by harvest time.

Flowering: 50 – 55 days

HISTORY

Developed by legendary breeder Sam the Skunkman in the US and taken to Holland. Thereafter the first strain bred for indoor growing, stabilization, and proper breeding.

It’s now used mostly as a building block for other hybrids. Still a favorite of some growers for its yield and early finish. Skunk became a generic term for any pungent high-grade, domestically produced flower.

What’s the difference between autoflower seeds and feminized and regular variants?

Significantly, there are three versions of  seeds to choose from, each having different qualities and results. Below, we provide information on these variants to help you select the best option for your garden:

Auto Flower Seeds

These seeds have been modified with ruderalis genetics, allowing   plants to flower regardless of the light. Since their use, experienced cultivators can grow multiple crops all year and generate yields in half the time.

Feminized Seeds

Altered genetics give these  seeds the ability to germinate 99% female plants. They’re the best option for beginner cultivators or anyone wanting to produce generous harvests.

Regular Seeds

This version has a 50% chance of developing into germinating female or male crops. Nonetheless males are useful only to breeders, so remove them from your garden before ruining your harvest.
