Ortega is a pure indica strain by Mr. Nice Seeds. At some point in the mid-1980s, legendary cannabis breeder, Shantibaba carefully selected some seeds that originated from the Northern Lights #1 and #5 phenotypes to breed the Ortega strain.

Aroma

Grinding open Ortega’s buds releases a notably dank odor. However, when combusted, Ortega’s aroma is much more pleasant. Sweet and spicy, fruity, berry fragrances combine to fill the air with Ortega’s distinctive aroma.

Flavor

The Ortega strain has a robust fruity flavor fused with mouth-watering rich berry. On the inhale, hints of spice and herbal notes blend with Ortega’s fruity flavor, delighting the taste buds.

Appearance

An Ortega plant typically grows to around five feet in height. A mature plant has a Christmas tree-like structure and slim forest green buds. These plants have vibrant purple hues and fiery pistils that stand out prominently against Ortega’s thin layer of frosted trichomes.
